People are my “thing”. I love photographing people. Last year, I hit New York City, and came away with hundreds of street candids of the people, and very few of the sites.
But it’s *interesting* people doing *interesting* things that I chase. Not that shooting a business headshot, or a family portrait isn’t interesting and fun – but put my model in a costume, or have them doing something whacky – I love that stuff.
So for 2011, I’m chasing “interesting”.
I’ve got two “interesting” events coming up – both are, by anyones standards, interesting - but for me, it’s going to be all about the people and the performers. The costumes and the performances. The glamor and the glitz.
I’m going to be photographing a 3 day convention in RI – Templecon is a massive role playing game convention, but has morphed into a steampunk, burlesque, bellydance and performance art event too – there will be balls, costumes, performances, and I hope to catch as much as I can.
The following weekend, I’ll be heading out to Western MA to photograph at a the LUV Show – a new burlesque monthly event – again, how much more interesting can you get than that?
Between these two events, I hope I’m kicking 2011 off in the right way, and I hope I run into old interesting friends, as well as make some new interesting friends – and when this snow goes away, start seeing those friends in some fun, fancy, photoshoots
