Canon repairs

August 25, 2010

Since buying my 7D, it’s had a slight problem that has bugged me, but has never caused me major problems, so I’ve ignored it for a while. Every few hundred shots or so, it would take a photo that was corrupted and would fail the download process and be unusable. It was only a matter of time for it to happen to a nice photo that I would have used otherwise – and it eventually did.

So I contacted Canon and started the return and repair process.

Last week, I boxed up the 7D and shipped it back – today, it returned with everything warranted and repaire. They found problems, and replaced the PCB assembly and front cover – they gave it a clean, reset the focus and upgraded the firmware.

Fantastic service, problem seems to be resolved, camera is fully functional again!

Thank you, Canon!
